10 Greatest Back-To-School Beauty Must-Haves YOu need this fall

It’s that time of year again! Going back to school is such a stressful time. Not only is there lot to think about when it comes to books and supplies, but for us girls, there is also a lot to think of when it comes to beauty and fashion.

It’s really the little things we have to think of that give us so much stress.

I have come to notice that when it comes to make up and skin care there are certain products that work best for different times of year.

For summer, it’s best to go with lighter, glowy makeup that’s not too cakey. In the winter, our skin tends to be dryer and paler so its best to go with moisturizing cream products.

So, are there specific products that we should be using at the end of summer when we are going back to school? The short answer is, yes!

Anyone that has ever been to school always talks about something called “school air.” If you haven’t heard of this term, let me explain. Because the lack of circulation at school, our skin pays for it!

Our skin tends to get either too dry or too oily and often have break outs because of this reason.

In this post, I will recommend the best beauty products that you will love for that back to school glow. With these products you can expect less break outs and more clear, youthful skin.

Back To School Beauty: Essential Bag

In my opinion, if you are a young girl who is going back school this fall, a back to school beauty essential bag is absolutely necessary.

What is a back-to-school beauty essential bag? It is a bag filled with items that you will definitely need during your school year. You can keep the bag in your locker or in your backpack. That way you have easy access to all of these items. Lastly, as the school year goes by, don’t forget to replenish this bag to make sure that you never run out of anything.

So what exactly is in this bag? For the most part, it can contain anything you want it to, depending on your needs. You can add essentials that you will need during your school year like feminine products, hand sanitizer, nail glue etc. My bag may look different from yours because my needs are different from yours.

Down below, I will also give you some examples of what you may need in your school essentials bag. You can add or remove anything you feel is either necessary or unnecessary. I will also provide links so it can directly send you to the item on Amazon or Sephora.

Also, here’s a tip. Purchase products from the travel section because the items are smaller and will fit in your bag a lot easier!

Some item you may want to add to your bag are:

  • Lip Balm
  • Body Spray
  • Hand Sanitizer
  • Hand Lotion
  • Kleenex
  • Tampons or Maxi Pads
  • Hair Elastics
  • Nail Glue
  • Small Hair Brush
  • Makeup Wipes
  • Blotting Paper
  • Deodorant

Back to School Beauty Must-Haves: Skin care

In this category, I will give you some great recommendations for skin care. Additionally, I will explain to you why these products are great back to school beauty essentials. I will also link every product for you so you have easy access to them if you would like to try them out.

Salicylic Acid Skin care

Salicylic Acid is know for helping your skin clear up from acne. These 2 products in my opinion are great for acne prone skin.

Paula’s Choice is a powerful toner and you can use after cleansing your skin. If you don’t believe me, go ahead and check out the reviews. At first, you may want to only use this product every other day because it is very strong.

If you like to try something little less harsh but works just as well, The Ordinary has a great serum and for an amazing price point. Just add this to your skin care routine for clearer skin, no matter what age.

I personally love both of these products. They have really helped clear up my daughters skin, who was really struggling with acne. As soon as we added these 2 products to her skin care routine (along with a few other products that I will also mention in this category) her skin transformed for the better. Now she cannot live without either one of these products.

Pimple Patches

Pimple patches have become really popular for this generation of teenagers. But most of them have become a trend because of the cute and colourful shapes used to cover you blemishes. But do these fancy pimple patches actually work?

From my experience, after trying different pimple patches, The Might Patch is the one that actually works.

Don’t get me wrong, I really love the concept of making star pimple patches trendy. That way teens can sport these cute little stickers outdoors and not be shy to leave the house with a zit. But in my opinion, these types of pimple patches are gimmicky.

The Mighty Patch actually extracts your pimple overnight forcing your blemishes to pop and be gone quicker! It amazes me each time I wear one overnight and see the results in the morning.

Not only does the brand have amazing pimple patches, but they have great nose and forehead patches for blackheads. Wearing one of these overnight really helps get rid of those annoying blackheads that are so stubborn to remove!

If you are someone who is struggling with blemishes, this product is a must! And definitely should be part of your back to school purchases this fall.

Removing Your Make-up

Removing your makeup is a very important part of your skin care routine. This is when you wipe off all the dirt that may be trapped in your skin at the end of the school day.

But this part of your skin care routine doesn’t have to be all that long or complicated.

Using these 2 essential products can really make this part of your routine stress free and easy.

Using Micellar water to wipe off your makeup is quite easy and inexpensive. You can purchase some cotton pads, add a small amount and wipe it all off. With this one step, most of your makeup should be gone.

To follow, you will need a good face wash. And there is no need to spend a lot of money on this product.

What I suggest is choosing something that will remove your makeup and help fight acne at the same time. It’s like killing 2 birds with one stone.

The CeraVe cleanser with salicylic Acid is a great product to do just that.

This is a staple in my teenage daughter’s skin care routine because it helps her acne immensely.

This goes to show that there is no need to drop a ton of money for your daily skin care products. There are great products out there that work and that are affordable.

Moisturizer

Owning a good moisturizer not only for your face but for your whole body as well, is essential no matter what time of year.

Again, this is something you really don’t have to spend a ton of money on. If you are a student, the last thing you want to do is spend a crazy amount of money on beauty products that you will need to replenish on a monthly basis.

The CeraVe Moisturizing lotion is one of the best products, in my opinion. And for the amount of product you get, it is really worth your money.

This moisturizer works great for your face or body. It is unscented and does not have any harsh chemicals in it which makes this a great and smart purchase!

Acne Cream

Effaclar by the brand LaRoche Posay is not just an acne cream that helps get rid of already existing pimples but it also helps prevent break outs.

I call this product “magic in a bottle.” Only because when my teenage daughter started having break outs on her face last summer, no spot treatment seemed to help her. I saw this product being recommended on TikTok and decided to give it a try. Within 2 weeks almost all of her acne was gone. In other words, this is a must-have product that I repurchase for her over and over again.

Back to School Beauty Must-Haves: Makeup

Wearing a lot of makeup at school is probably not very practical. You are there for almost 8 hours a day and because of the lack of air circulation, we tend to become very oily at the end of the day. which can cause acne. But we don’t exactly want to go bar-faced either.

There are a few makeup products that you can use to give you a “natural look” and I will tell you what those products are in this category.

Tinted Moisturizer

Let’s start off with our base. Foundation would be way too heavy to wear on a daily basis when you are at school everyday. So a tinted moisturizer would be an excellent alternative. It is something that hydrates your skin and gives you a little coverage at the same time. Just enough coverage where you won’t look cakey or dry.

To make things even better, not only is this product a tinted moisturizer, it is also an spf 50. So you are also protecting your skin from the sun.

In my opinion, this is the ultimate base for every day. Whether you’re in school or at work, this product is a three in one and in my books, its a no brainer.

Bronzer and Blush

I strongly believe in cream products if you are going for a more natural makeup look. Almost every brand has cream products included in their new collections, so it really is a personal choice.

The cream bronzer and blush that I love using for an every day natural look is the Cloud Paint Gel Cream blush and bronzer. They give the perfect hydrating, smoothe look that you will definitely need while wearing makeup all day at school. There are many shades to choose from that I am positive you will find one that you love.

Setting Powder

Now that we have all our cream products on, it its essential to set all of that so we don’t crease.

There is no need to spend lots of money on a good setting power if you don’t want to. The Maybelline Fit Me Matte and Powerless setting powder is super popular and for good reason.

You do not need to use a lot of this product or else you will become too dry. Just dust a little bit of setting power over your face with a makeup brush, just enough to set all the cream products you applied and you are good to go!

Eyelashes

You have 3 choices when it comes to your eyelashes and going to school.

The first choice is to just leave them be. Natural lashes are beautiful and there are definitely days when you will be too lazy to do anything to them because lets be honest, who wants to wake up early to fix their lashes?

If you are someone who doesn’t mind waking up early to fix their lashes then choice number 2 and 3 are for you.

The second choice is to just curl your lashes. That way you have a little something going on but it only takes you a minute or so to curl them. I personally absolutely love the e.l.f lash curler. It works great and is so inexpensive.

The third choice is to curl them and apply mascara. This will obviously take time in the morning so it is personal choice of how you would like to spend your morning.

The mascara that I always recommend, is Telscopic from L’Oreal. It is a great lengthening mascara that does not flake off during the day and is super afforadable!

Back to School Beauty Must-Haves: Hair

There is only one product that I will recommend in this category. I have tons of hair recommendations but I already have a post for this. This post is all about back to school beauty products.

Dry Shampoo

Dry shampoo is absolutely essential when you are going to school.

This is perfect for those mornings when you wake up and regret not washing your hair the night before and don’t have time to wash it in the morning.

If you have never used dry shampoo before, it is something that may change your life. When you are going to school and studying, washing your hair is just not an every day necessity. This is only because drying it takes so much time! So taking a quick shower and then using dry shampoo in the morning is something that can take a lot of stress off of you especially when you are tired or always in a rush.

Conclusion

In conclusion, back to school beauty products don’t have to be complicated or expensive.

The trick to back to school beauty products is to keep it simple. Remember that less is more and that wearing too much makeup is not the answer.

Don’t forget to keep your skin hydrated on the outside with moisturizer but to also keep it hydrated from the inside. It’s super important to drink a lot of water! If you don’t, your skin will definitely pay the price.
