After a long and gruelling winter, summer is finally here! It’s time to start looking for cute summer outfits, bright nail polish colours and for the perfect summer beauty products.

Is there such a thing as products that are only for summer? Not really. All beauty products can be used at any time of the year. With that being said, there are certain products that just work so much better when used in the summer. For example, when you have a nice tan or when your skin and hair is a little dryer because of the sun certain beauty products will help you with that problem.

I will be breaking down the products in 4 categories This will make it easy to search for what you are looking for. The categories are; Sunscreen, Skin Care and Makeup, Hair Care and Body Care.

Summer is my favourite season. That is why I love trying out different products for this time of year. Our body’s need the extra care since we’re spending so much time in the sun. I will also recommend products from different price ranges. That way there is something in this post for everyone. So let’s dive in!

Sunscreen is probably the most important category in this post. I love how young girls these days are so well informed about keeping your skin protected from the sun. Because of this, there are so many sunscreen products on the market. Whether you want to shop high end or more affordable, there are good sunscreen products either way. In the next section, I will recommend the best sunscreens that you will love!

This SumBum Mist sunscreen with 50 protection is great for those pool days. Super easy and convenient to just spray on every time you get out of the water and works for up to 80 minutes. I love this sunscreen because it is not greasy at all and it smells like a vacation!

I promise, you have never experienced a sunscreen like this before. The Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen’s texture is like no other. It is actually completely clear and gives a blurred effect when applied to the face. So this product is great to wear alone or under your makeup. In my opinion, a little pricey but if you hate sticky or greasy sunscreens, this may be worth the price point for you. It comes in a small bottle so it is easy to throw in your purse and is spf 40.

Hawaiian Tropic Silk Hydration Sunscreen is a great alternative if you don’t want to spend too much money on a sunscreen just intended just for your face. This product gives you beautiful glass-like skin that is especially perfect when wearing alone with no makeup. I have actually gotten many compliments about my glass-like complexion and people don’t believe when I tell them that it’s just my sunscreen!

In my opinion, this is such an under-rated sunscreen. It has a thick consistency and is tinted so you can replace it as your foundation in the summer months. I love to wear this to the beach or the pool. It gives you some coverage making you look a little put together instead of being bare-faced. It is not very greasy like most sunscreens and it is spf 50!

Probably my favourite and my most re-purchased product on this entire list. This tinted sunscreen is literal magic and nothing like I have ever tried before. It has a runny consistency and gives you light coverage. If you are looking for a light coverage tinted moisturizer that also protects your skin from the sun, you need to try this product. It is definitely a fan favourite and is always out of stock in the summer months, so I make sure that I am always stocked up. Not only do I use this product all summer but it is a staple for me even in the winter months.

Absolutely love the simplistic packaging of this product. It fits so perfectly in your purse to reapply all day long. A little pricey but it has a great texture that won’t leave you oily. Can be found at Sephora.

The skin care I use on my face in the winer months and the summer months are completely different. In the winter I like thick, rich moisturizers to prevent my skin from getting dry from the cold. In the summer I love super light and refreshing products that won’t feel too heavy or look too cakey on my face. The next few products are the best summer skin care and makeup products.

At one point, the Drunk Elephant Bronze drops were completely sold out at every Sephora. That’s how good this product is. You apply it either alone for a pretty glow or right under your foundation to give you a more subtle glow from within. Only Negative thing I have to say about this product is the price. I purchased this but probably never will again because the bottle is just so damn small for the price! I find myself only using it on occasion because I don’t want it to waste!

Glow Recipe is my absolute favourite skin care line for the summer. Everything is so refreshing and light yet super moisturizing. This Cloudberry brightening serum has summer written all over it. A great product that will make you look forward to your skin care routine every day.

Anything with the word “coconut” in it for the summer will be a definite purchase for me. A good setting spray is really important to add to your skin care routine in the summer. Another way to use a setting spray is right after your makeup or keeping it in your purse to freshen up. This elf setting spray is so good and super affordable!

During the summer, we tend to wear a lot less makeup because of our sun-kissed tan. The reason I recommend this product is because it is a cheek and lip stain which means it’s super natural. Just rub this on your cheeks or lips and it gives you a natural rosy glow. Adding this to your lips then lip gloss on top is just perfection!

I couldn’t add jut one Glow recipe product on this list. If I could, I would add the whole line because like I mentioned before, everything I have tried from them, I love. The only complaint I would have is that their bottles are too small! This Watermelon glow moisturizer is so refreshing on your face. It smells amazing and gives you the prettiest glow you can imagine (hence the name). The perfect moisturizer for summertime!

Lip oils have been all the trend lately but no one had made an affordable lip oil that is this good. Elf really outdid themselves with the formula of this lip product. I’m not really sure how they can make something so good at this price point. Wearing a lip oil in the summer is great for those days when you want to wear something lightweight and girly. You cannot go wrong with this product!

Similar to the Drunk Elephant Glow Drops, the Lumi Gotion gives you a bronzy glow when applied under your makeup. This would especially look beautiful after a day of tanning. This will add an extra glow on those perfect summer nights.

I’m thinking that you can use this product in 2 ways. The first way would be as a detangler and heat protecter. You simple spray this on your hair on towel dried hair and it really helps protect your hair if you use any type of heat on it. The second way would be to throw this into your beach bag and spitz on your hair right before you sit in the sun. Exposing your hair to the sun for too many hours, especially bleached hair, can really dry out your strands. This product can help save your hair so that by the end of summer your hair isn’t fried!

Defy Damage Treatment from the brand Joico is an awesome line of hair products that many hair salons sell. This is an incredible treatment that makes your hair feel absolutely fabulous. You can sometimes find this product at Winners or Marshalls which is always a win! If not, Amazon sells this treatment which for me is a constant re-purchase.

A good hair oil in the summer months is an absolute must! Sadly, most hair oils cost an arm and let for a small bottle. Luckily, the brand Mielle created and amazing, affordable hair oil that’s great to use in your hair any time of year. This hair oil is infused with biotin so it encourages heathy scaly and hair growth. Can be found at Target or Amazon!

After a long day at the pool or the beach, your strands will definitely take a hit. You will absolutely need a product to add the moisture back into your locks. This milky leave-in treatment from Sol De Janeiro will do the trick! A few sprays of this after your shower will not only make your hair feel soft and moisturized, but it will also smell incredible! This is like summer in a bottle!

We never realize how much sun we’re getting until we go home and get out of the shower. As much as we try so hard to protect our skin from the sun during the summer months, sometimes we’re having so much fun in the pool and forget to keep re-applying our sunscreen. For days like those, this is the product will come in handy. Cool Down from the brand SunBum is exactly that. It helps cool off our skin and replenish its moisture after too much exposure to the sun.

These Tree Hut scrubs have really been trending at the moment and I understand why! This is a great and affordable product. It exfoliates your skin beautifully in the shower and when you get out, you smell incredible! Personally, I always follow up with their shea butter moisturizer right after the shower for the absolute softest skin. This product is obviously good to use any time of year but the scents they create are specific for every season. You can choose from their stunning collection. I chose the Pineapple scrub because for me, this scent just screams summertime!

I know, I know, everyone is on the “no aluminium” band wagon and this antiperspirant is absolutely not that. But hear me out! I get it and I’m all for using safer products especially when it comes to deodorant. But I have tried every single “no Aluminum” product out there and although some are actually really good, in those crazy hot summer months, they just do not work! So I use the “clean” deodorants in the cooler months but for the summer months only, I use the Dove Advance Care antiperspirant. It keeps me dry and smelling great even on the hottest, stickiest days in the summer.

This summer you definitely need a good body oil to keep your skin hydrated. No need to go spend your money on anything too expensive. My favourite body oil is super affordable! The Vaseline Cocoa Body Oil leaves your skin feeling really hydrated and super soft but not greasy. It also smells amazing and lasts on the body for hours.

Perfume is such a great way to express your style and for me personally, I like my fragrances to represent every season. In the winter and fall months, I love to sport really smokey and sweet scents. In the summer months, it’s quite the opposite. I like my summer scents to be very light and fresh. I can list you a bunch of my go-to summer scents, but I think I will dedicate a whole blog post for that because the list is too long. Two that I can think of off the top of my head are Coconut Cove by Skylar and Coconut Sun by The 7 Virtues. If you love these types of fresh and fruity scents, I promise you will love these perfumes!

62 by Sol de Janeiro is an incredible set to purchase for the summer. Whether you decide to purchase the body cream, body spray or the shampoo, you cannot go wrong. This brand has a bunch of other scents to choose from so you can go ahead and test them out at Sephora or Ulta and choose your favourite. But if you are ordering online and are not sure which one you would like, 62 is their original formula and a fan favourite, so you will not regret it. It is the perfect summer scent!

To be honest, I am not a huge fan of self tanners. Only because every single one I have tried makes me look too orange and no matter how much I try to blend it in, I always seem to miss a spot which makes me look blotchy. This is by far the best self tanning product that works for me. If you are looking for a subtle self tanner that won’t make you look blotchy this is the one. This is great for the beginning of summer when you are so pale and have to wear a dress for an event. Just add a couple of drops into your favourite body moisturizer and slather yourself with it the night before your event. It gives you the perfect summer glow without any exposure to the sun at all.

This next product is actually great for anytime of the year. In the winter I use it for my eczema. It really helps heal and bring moisture to my extra dry skin. In the summer, I actually use this product as a lip product. It is in my purse all the time and I’m constantly re-applying. I know that it is not meant for this reason but when your lips are dry from the sun exposure all day, this is the only product that heals them really quick!
